The YIN YANG symbol or Taijitu is a representative symbol from Ancient Chinese Taoism. The completeness of the circle represents the Universe which contains a balance of passive and active forces flowing together in a state of balance and harmony. This flow is cyclical, changing and evolving constantly. Whether it be from failure to success, sickness to health or poverty to abundance.
The black is the YIN - a feminine, receptive and passive force. Also symbolised by water and earth.
The white is the YANG - a masculine, creative and active force. Also represented by fire and air.
Each section contains an element of the other, as neither can exist alone.
The symbol has long been a favourite for adorning objects due to the deep meaning hidden in it's simplicity. All the items for sale (listed on the right )have the Yin Yang symbol on them.
